Eat Clean To Stay Fit; Have A Burger To Stay Sane.

Hubbox have stores throughout Devon and Cornwall and it’s very popular amongst all locals. Its food is influenced by American street food and it’s over the top milkshakes. So with that in mind, here’s what I thought of their award winning burgers.

Upon arrival to their Exeter store, we were greeted with a big smile and welcoming staff. They showed us to our seats and gave us plenty of time to order our food. There’s so much selection that it’s hard to choose what to have! There were also so many milkshakes, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks too choose from on top of a big variety of food. Already I was impressed with such a variety of choices; if only I had a big enough stomach to fit half the menu in.

Being vegetarian, I went for the Nacho Libre burger which consisted of a Nacho-fried bean patty, guacamole, chilli coriander salsa & shredded lettuce in a Baker Tom ciabatta roll. Keri went for the All Star which involved a 6oz beef patty, American burger cheese, French’s mustard, Tommy K, diced onion & pickles with shredded lettuce. We decided to both order the Gem + Avocado salad to unleash our love of avocados and some hand cut fries. So overall, I think it was a pretty good line up of food that was soon to be delivered to our table.

We waited for around 10-15 minutes; bearing in mind it was really busy. It was worth the wait for sure as the food was absolutely delicious and so filling. I had a major food baby and just about managed to clear my plate with Keri way ahead of the game. I think she enjoyed it major too as her plate was empty!

My burger had a spicy twang to it and certainly filled me to the brim. All the flavours went really well together and the ciabatta roll wasn’t too over powering. The chilli coriander salsa certainly delivered my craving for spicy food that’s for sure. The Gem + Avocado salad was a beaut; who doesn’t love avocado? It was light and refreshing and it came with a really tasty dressing. I’ll never know what the dressing’s called or where it came from but it was so delicious.

Keri thought the burger she had was really tasty, succulent and good value for money. I also really loved the salad, it was really refreshing.

The restaurant had positive vibes throughout and the decoration was hip and upbeat. It seemed to attract ages ranging 17+. The wall art was a combination of spray paint and that of an American Diner. It was really cool and made you feel like you’re in the USA. The waiters on duty were friendly, genuine and went out of their way to help.

Keri also thought the service was fantastic and went on to say that despite it was very busy, we got our food fairly quick, which was impressive. We both would go here again and recommend it to everyone that gets stuck to eat out in Exeter.
